METCALF MOVING & STORAGE – COVID-19 UPDATE 3/30/2020
As we are all aware, the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting our entire world in a profound way, and the virus is currently spreading throughout the United States. Accordingly, the Governor of Minnesota has issued Executive Order 20-20, directing Minnesotans to stay at home, with exceptions for essential needs.
Since “moving and relocation services” has been deemed a critical trade in the Order, we will continue to serve our community, as long as we can operate in a safe and reasonable way.
As a company, we will do our best to keep our employees, our customers, and the greater community as safe as possible.
We will do this by:
- Adhering to the guidance of the Center for Disease Control (CDC), and asking our employees to do the same. This includes maintaining an appropriate distance from others as much as practical, and staying home if they are sick.
- Cleaning our trucks, equipment, and workspaces more thoroughly and frequently than usual.
- Continuing to monitor the situation constantly.
We ask and require that our customers:
- Advise us of any travel they have made outside the United States in the 30-day period prior to their move.
- Advise us if they have, or have been exposed to coronavirus.
- Contact us immediately if they show any symptoms of coronavirus.
- Wipe down and disinfect their residence and household items prior to their move, per the guidelines of the CDC.
- Limit the number of people at the residence during the move to a minimum, outside of our crew.
As mentioned, we will continue to monitor the pandemic and make changes to our operations as needed, to maintain safety. In addition, we will work with our customers to adjust and reschedule any moves that may be affected. We are all in this together, so we thank you for your cooperation and patience, and look forward to returning to business as usual in the near future.
